LANDING SAFER
Testamentary Charitable Lead Annuity Trust (TCLAD)
A Testamentary Charitable lead Annuity Trust (TCLAD) is created under the terms of a will to provide funds to a beneficiary while avoiding estate taxes. With a TCLAD the beneficiary does not receive the funds upon your death, but must give away an amount equal to the trust to charities over several years. Once the money is given away the beneficiary will receive the remaining amount (typically the same as when it was created) in a tax free distribution. TCLADS provide many intrinsic values to the beneficiaries and are typically used in estates with more than 5 million in assets.
